SniffOut ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application. By using SniffOut, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
We collect several types of information from and about users of our app:

Public Profile: Your profile name, pet name, neighborhood, photos, posts, and reviews are visible to all SniffOut users.
Direct Messages: Messages are only visible to you and the recipient.
Service Providers: We share information with trusted third-party service providers including Supabase (database hosting), Expo (push notifications), Apple and Google (app distribution and in-app purchases), and payment processors.
Sponsored Content: We may share aggregated, non-personally identifiable information with sponsors. We do not share your personal information with advertisers without your explicit consent.
Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SniffOut, our users, or the public.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase. We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), row-level security policies, secure authentication, and access controls. Despite these measures, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal information within 48 hours.
Photos you upload are stored in secure cloud storage and are accessible to other SniffOut users. You retain full ownership of your photos. By uploading photos, you grant SniffOut a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display them within the app. We do not use your personal photos for advertising or share them with third parties outside the app.
With your permission, we send push notifications for activity such as likes, comments, messages, friend requests, and walk updates. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings.
If SniffOut offers premium features, payments will be processed through Apple In-App Purchases or Google Play Billing. We do not collect, store, or have access to your full credit card details. Subscription management is handled through your App Store or Google Play account settings.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. California residents have additional rights under CCPA. EU/EEA residents have rights under GDPR including the right to object to processing and lodge complaints with data protection authorities. Our mobile app does not use browser cookies. We may use device identifiers and local storage to maintain your session. We do not use cross-app tracking or share your data with advertising networks for behavioral advertising.
SniffOut integrates with Supabase, Expo, Apple App Store, and Google Play. Each has their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.
SniffOut is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately at support@sniffoutapp.com.
SniffOut is operated in the United States. If you access our app from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice in the app, sending an email to your registered address, or updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of SniffOut after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
